This is a recent small colored pencil piece based on a photograph that I took of an antique coffee grinder. My days begin and end with coffee and I felt that this was the perfect focus of a still life piece. I have called this piece the "Daily Grind" for the obvious reason, but also because for most of us, making art is also the way we begin and often end our day. I hope that these feelings are shared by you who view this. It's a grind that we love. The piece was done on Dura-lar polyester film using Prismacolor Verithin pencils. The dimensions are 5 inches X 9 inches. I plan to mount this small piece on the inside glass of a hurrican lamp. I plan to do one for each side of the lamp and will call it my "coffee table lamp". I hope that you enjoy.

Artist Reply: Mark: thanks so much! I'm glad the realism comes through and I hope that your coffee was exactly how you like it! Have a great Sunday. Best regards, Will

Fabulous pencil work that reminds my childhood also!! I just miss the wonderful small of fresh grinded coffee!! Excellent, Will!!!

Artist Reply: Marie-Claire: Thank you so much for your comments! I agree with you that the smell of freshly ground coffee is very hard to top! And smell does spark our memories. Many of us can remember old grinders of this type. We may not of used them, thank goodness, but we remember them! All the best to you and your husband. Regards, Will
