Artist Reply: Jane: thanks so much. I do believe that a picture is worth lots of words. I enjoy doing this type of work, but it really is work! I have not yet decided how to end this work with a somewhat uplifting ending. One day I will find what I'm looking for, I hope. This media is a powerful way to educate. My background prior to retirement was as a University biology professor for 31 years. I used drawings similar to these in many of my classes. Not all focused on lung cancer and smoking. It seems more like actual work to compose the story line and to render images to complement the words than to just sit at my work table and paint using my colored pencils! Perhaps I'm lazy!
