This is a colored pencil painting based on a photograph I took early one winter morning from our deck. The trees and how they stand out against the dawn sky attracted me. This is a 5 x 7 inch photorealistic painting done on Dura-lar polyester film using Prismacolor Verithin pencils. Enjoy the view, but it's cold out!

I like this painting. The trees must have been difficult to do. Nice job.

Artist Reply: Karen: thanks so much for your comments! I'm glad that this piece speaks to you. Actually I didn't find the trees that hard to do. I like detail and I enjoy doing winter trees. I just have to be patient and take breaks when needed. Trees really reveal their structure without their leaves. Thanks again for looking and commenting. Have a good Friday. Best regards, Will

Will, quite an impressive drawing, I must say. You are very talented. I like your graphic novel images as well and will comment about them later. Thanks for visiting. Blessings to YOU.

Artist Reply: Anne: thank you so much for your lovely comments. They are greatly appreciated. I looked at your bio and see that we have something other than art in common. I too am a retired teacher, but at the opposite end of the academic spectrum. I am a retired university biology professor. I taught gross anatomy, human anatomy, and genetics for 31 years. Loved it, but do not miss it now. My art is very fulfilling. I'm sure that you feel the same way. Best regards, Will
