Mimicking the standard "egg assignment" from the art school days. I fondly recall the painful challenge of staring into the white of the egg on the white of the paper, delicately laying the wispest of washes, one at a time building up to the tiniest hint of hue that would disappear the minute you moved your eyes away from one to the other - that damn egg and the watercolour painting. That assignment stayed with me forever after and to this day I see colour and gossamer-form where others swear there is none. So, that is what I am trying to relive today, only this time, I am more or less going backward - starting with something that has unquestionable colour and form and reducing it to that gossamer-like ghost of colour and shape.
