Artist Reply: Due to the snow storm, the contour of the peaks seemed to present itself as a volcano caldera.

Artist Reply: I was fortunate enough to capture the "Blood of Christ" (Sangre de Cristo) during a clearing snow storm at sunset on the peaks. This I believe yielded the soft pinks. It was a single image hand-held telephoto capture.
