Babysitting Duty

I was amazed to realize that not only do Canadian geese flock together to migrate, but they also do communal "babysitting". The majority of the adults were ignoring the goslings and the 4 adults that were given "babysitting" duty were acting so much like a human nanny/babysitter I had to laugh. there were over 30 goslings.

Really a terrific shot Amy... Looks like two families.. One bigger than the other but ma and pa are right there to guard them.. Thanks for sharing.. Joanie

Artist Reply: They actually were the goslings of at least 6 different pairs. We hung around for quite a while-- and after the other adults had gotten some "free time" the goslings were separated out into 4-6 in each group and wandered off in different directions.
