Possibly last year's only surviving young swan was sitting on a cattail mat in the tiny secondary pond at Josey Ranch Lake. The adult female (pen) is sitting on the nest so that means pappa swan (cob) has already chased off the young adult from the lake in the last weeks. Carrollton, Texas
