12 x 40 Canvas. Thinking of a warmer more organic palette for this piece, my thoughts (wandering as they often do) were pondered as I painted... wondering why these colors are common to both "organic matter" as many plants complete an annual cycle of life, and "inorganic matter" like metals found in common iron bearing rock, a non-life form that goes through a similar but infinitely longer cycle of decomposition. So different, yet both provide essential building blocks to support the organic life that all other life on the planet relies on. The annual cycle of plant life is but a moment in time. The cycle of rock is indeed infinitely longer... It is a reminder that there are many cycles of beginnings and of endings that mark the process of life and change. Life is full of such circles and we humans are really only along for the ride... just like the most basic microscopic forms of life that travel through space and time on the infinite number of rocks hurtling around our universe. It is like a search for the water that is so essential to the process of life... and rust. Original Painting may be available. Contact the artist for the gallery location.
