On a Classical Theme

Artists have many times wanted to capture something that had a classical theme or idea in it. When we see vases and grapes we perhaps think about something from the past. The Greeks were fond of their grapes and their wine. Lemons have oftentimes been a subject of interest to the artist. The Flemish artists many times cut a lemon to see it unravel its skin and flesh. So here with all of these varied objects, is my rendition of a classical theme.

Very nice still life! Beautiful, sparkling colors and good rendering of the light. Are the statuaries portrayals of different forms/versions of Aphrodite/Venus (the one to the left looks like a Aphrodite/Venus "Kallipygos" and the one to the right looks like some version of Aphrodite/Venus of Melos/Milo)?

Artist Reply: Thank you X-Chel. I appreciate the kind comments. Are you as an artist selling any work? I truly would like to be able to. We need to be able to help our income as a family here in Colorado Springs. Thanks, Stephen Hanson
