Father Damien from Belgium (2010)

Father Damien, the future Saint Damien, is show in front of his ancestral home in Belgium. He is holding a bouquet of palm trees to foreshadow his eventual trip to the Hawaiian Islands, where he lived in the leper colony on Molakai. This is him as a handsome young man, fresh from seminar and ready to go save the world.

Hello David! How are you? I se you've been really busy with your new artwork. For some reason AW are not sending any alerts about your new work. This is an interesting portrait. Great Holcombe artwork!

I like the determined look in his eyes and the idea with the palm trees. Beautiful composition with the building in the background, wonderful fresh colours too.

His eyes are riveting... one senses that he feels strongly and has a mission to accomplish. The greens against the red keep the moving around. Wonderful!
