Deepwater Horizon Disaster 2010

The Deepwater Horizon disaster has devastated Louisiana. Our poor state is still recovering from Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Gustav and Ike. It already suffers from terrible rates of poverty, sexually transmitted diseases, infant mortality, teenage birth and racial disparities. We hardly needed this man-made disaster.

Greetings from Paris David! We're here for a couple of months looking after a large dog in a small apartment in the centre of Paree!! This is an amazing painting. So poignant with all the suffering wildlife damaged by yet another oil spill. BP are infamous for putting profit before people and the natural environment. I agree with Olga. This painting should be printed on the front of the Times Magazine! Just looking at this picture only reinforces the absolute powerlessness I feel at this whole situation. Felicitations!!

AMEN to all that David. This painting makes a most excellent statement. WELL DONE.

So sad - we need oil for energy and our economy. If only our government leaders would protect us from corporate greed. Instead they all plot against the average person in the USA. Someday there will be a change big time.

Your work totally touched me and should be printed on the cover of the Times Magazine. This tragic man made disaster is beyond words... Thanks for this emotional expression on your canvas. Love and Light, Moi

David, I always love your compositions with so many things to see! Although this is a sad story, the tragedy BP brought about over there is horrible.

Very expressive work of statement, David.. The subject selected by you is important to deal with. There's a lot going on in this work of your, that must be one of my favorite from yours. With all happnenig here.. There first thing I noticed is the bp, with small letters (for a reason, I guess).. I had a friend years back - BP.. with Blue eyes..

A deeply felt aura of sadness hovers over this painting. I , too, as Nelly comments, experience despair while watching the news, and hearing all the latest non-successful efforts to repair the damage. It just continues, and one wonders if it will ever be a pristine ocean and shore, marshes, and beaches.

So sad, this is a cauchemar, hurting my deepest me looking at this - the human race is the one I belong to, and ashamed me, ashamed about this. We are destroying our earth. So painful to see, to feel, to realise. Your work is brilliant again, David.
