Some well-known Chapins are Harry Chapin, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Noah Webster, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Grover Cleveland, William Howard Taft, John Brown, JP Morgan, Canada Prime Minister Richard Bedford Bennett, ... all descended from Deacon Samuel Chapin (one of the founders of Springfield, MA)
