L'Eglise du Dome

L'Eglise du Dome in Paris, France, is a large church, famous for its magnificent dome. It is a typical example of baroque architecture. Built between 1679 and 1706 during the reign of Louis XIV and for his sole use, it was dedicated to the glory of Napoleon from 1840 and became his final resting place. His body now lies in a red porphyry coffin. The dome's exterior was gilted in 1715. The church is located in the hotel des Invalides. The photos were taken on July 23, 2007.
