Turning The Hay

14 x 10 ins on paper - unframed and unmounted. I recently read a wonderful book about the history of Co. Mayo. Among the many photographs in it was one of an old lady turning hay, which is what inspired this painting. Oddly, it was only when I finished that my husband remarked that the face of the lady is actually my late mothers!!
