Amara

Her name is Amara - this is a very special painting, as she's going to be featured in an upcoming book of short stories. This is a portrait of Amara, a Polynesian / Hawaiian type of fairy creature - also known as a Menehune - Amara is a name meaning "Paradise". She does live in a paradise, with a waterfall - bird of paradise plants, orchids, all kinds of tropical foliage. Menehune are often described as lovling bananas and rainbows, so I have included them in this painting as well. My own original acrylic painting. ©Jasmine Becket-Griffith - prints are available at http://www.strangeling.com and http://zazzle.com/strangeling*
