This painting was created because the author was inspired by the movie "Beyond Borders" (starring Clive Owen and Angelina Jolie) and by the photograph taken by Kevin Carter who was awarded with a Pulitzer prize for it. This painting was made in hope that someday Africa will see a better tomorrow.
