At the Masquerade Ball

"At the Masquerade Ball" - painted this one around Mardi Gras ... Carneval ... Masquerades! I've painted a beautiful big eyed maiden in an elaborate dress (in the traditional Purple, Green, and Gold of the New Orleans Mardi Gras!) - at a masquerade ball. Masked characters set the scene behind her - including a Plague Doctor sneaking in on the side. Beautiful Venetian masks. The colors in this are subtle, but the greens and violets (particularly her violet eyes!) really "pop" and bring it together. I LOVE this painting!!! This is my own original acrylic painting. ©Jasmine Becket-Griffith - prints are available at http://www.strangeling.com and http://zazzle.com/strangeling*
