Color on Copper

Well, I am a welder in a metal shop, and playing with left-over paints! I paint on thin copper sheets because that is what I have. If I can ever figure out what I am doing, I might get some canvas to work on!

How did I miss seeing this when you posted it back in August, 09! It is a wonderful piece. Painted on copper you would have to sell it for an arm and a leg....lol

Artist Reply: Jane, thanks for digging deep into my postings!

A creative and unique approach! The metal must give it that unique shines. Perhaps I'll try the technique myself.

Artist Reply: Thanks, Cibeles, please do try it. All my paintings are on copper or stainless steel sheets because that is all I have to wok with, but I am sure, or I can imagine that it is different. There is no absorption for one, and a slightly longer drying time, giving the artist a chance to play with the paint! and there is a sheen, where ever you let the metal shine through.
