FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION

22" X 33" BRONZE WALL SCULPTURE AND SCONCE (AS CAN BE SEEN FROM THE IMAGE, RADIATES LIGHT FROM WITHIN) DEPICTING A WOMAN WHOSE CHAINS OF CONFINEMENT HAVE BEEN BROKEN, ONLY TO HAVE HER RE-IMPOSE CHAINS UPON HERSELF, AS IS THE CASE IN MANY CULTURES. THE PIECE IS ALSO CALLED "THE WOMAN IN THE EAR."

I'd love to know what type of lightsource you use in your work, I have been trying to figure out a lightsource without an electrical cord. Short of installing the sculpture over a wall socket, I have yet to figure something out. Wonderful use of light with the bronze!

Artist Reply: Hello Paul, thank you for the complement. Regarding a light source, if you will note in the image to which you responded, there is a cord coming down on the bottom right side. The two ways that I can think of to conceal the wire is to either bury it in the wall or install a receptacle on the bottom back of the sculpture into which a plug wired to the power source can be plugged unplugged for lighting.
