This has to be my old friend from earlier visits at UNT Lake (pond) in Denton, Texas, because he lets me get so close, unlike most Great Blue Herons. The weather on St. Patrick's Day was a blessing to all for sure.

They are no longer hunted for their feathers which almost led to their extinction. Most are solitary and don't like people around. A lot of people mistake them for storks. Wonderful shot!
