Holding centrepiece within this work the Harakeke weave represent Ngaru - Ocean waves, also captured within Tukutuku panels. The Toetoe collage gives form to the ocean breezes which act as a key component in the creation of waves. They reveal the playful nature and mysticism of the wind as it may be seen in the delicate ocean spray and morning mists. © 2009 Susan Haywood Smith
