Pacific Trinity II

This artwork acknowledges the Christian influence in my upbringing as well as the powerful role the Church played in the settlement of the South Pacific. The cross is comprised of symbols that are reflective of my environment. The abstract frangipani flowers signify the Pacific Island Cultures predominant in the area where I grew up. Like much of my artwork this piece also has a strong water theme to it. The eye shapes symbolise Waka (Maori canoes) and the criss-cross signify fishing net.
