The Red Umbrella

My take of an old, calendar page that I found in my basement in Sweden-I can not read the name of the original artist but I do believe she/he is Scandinavien according to the painting itself. I am also trying out my new Christmas present-a set of watercolors(I usually use acrylic) ENJOY!

Hello Marja! How are you? I like your paintings. This is a sweet little illustration with lots of atmosphere. I love the figures being blown along by the wind and the splashes of colour from their umbrellas. Brilliant artwork!

I like this very much because it reminds me of the books I used to read as a child. Very colorful; very friendly. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. . .Well done.

Artist Reply: It brings memories to me too...growing up in Finland where the rain was "borned" I'm sure...dont' know what happend to MY red umbrella...!!
