Harvey Milk and Billy Graham (2009)

This diptych shows Havey Milk, the first openly gay member of the San Francisco City Council, and Billy Graham, well known evangelist. They both were charismatic leaders with strong (if opposing) beliefs. Here they are joined by the Golden Gate Bridge. Cherubs fly in the background and a Sacred Heart of Jesus acts as a symbolic sun.

Dearest David there you go again pushing the boundaries of the themes of figurative painting! And I just love it!!! You have quite a strong fan base here on AW you know! Love Billy Graham's Scorpionic eyes. Brilliant artwork!

Wonderful painting! Would you consider doing a painting of Harvey Milk & Mayor Moscone?
