Copy sent to me from a couple, Jutta and Manfred Medrow, I had once sketched a decade ago in Berlin. They had seen my work recently on this website and thought perhaps I would like to include them, to help me raise money for the poor through sales for Day Star and the Pregnancy Family Center, which is run by volunteers. But they specified the original is not for sale because they would never part with it. I, while sketching, had seen emulating from their souls a happiness filled with a new feeling of pride that Berlin was no longer a divided city and restoration was in full swing, making it again the Capital and a city of the arts in less than a decade after the Fall of the Wall. To me they symbolized the human triumph over despair. (triumph uber die menschliche).
