David Holcombe 30 Sep 2008

There is something about this awful event that is fascinating for artists. I don't know anyone who has not done some tribute. The paradox is the event itself, so dramatic, yet so terrible. The bright yellow and intense black against the intense, cloudless blue sky creates a terrifying contrast.

Artist Reply: I agree with you, the bright sky makes it almost unreal. But it was very real and has changed the world for ever, I'm afraid. Thank you for your great words to my painting, David.

What a stunning tribute Anneke......and I'm so glad you dedicated it to all those killed and affected by these atrocities, not just 9/11................I was watchig a documentary last night and the horror I felt on that day came rushing back. No doubt, the world will never forget it.....but there were and have been since, so many other lives lost...............so sad, so tragic..............so pointless.............

Artist Reply: We must always remember any violence that is done to innocent victims. No matter what way or when. We must always remember that there can be no cause that justifies violence. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us, Jacki. It's very much appreciated!

annette steens 11 Sep 2008

Very sad memorial Anneke but we have to face that we are living on this earth with people who think different about Life in all its splendour. Open the eyes and see we don't need any authorities above us. it's the greed and power which rules the world (was inside job of the government itself!!)but......new world is coming if we start to take care for ourselves. We don't have enemies we create them in our own minds! The painting is very nice done and I will think about the innoncent lost of lifes today !

Artist Reply: Yes, let us remember the victims of all violence. We could indeed live in a wonderful world, if we would ban Satan out of it. Thank you very much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts with us, Annette!
