Barrel Jumping Palmer Park ca. 1956

This is the completed work. There are still probably things to correct and I correct them as I see them. I called Cooley High School this morning and found out their colors were red and black. Then I called my cousin Peter who went there and found out the colors were a light burgundy and Light blue. the two figures at the lower left are wearing letterman's jackets from those two schools. Just one of my touches of authenticity that I like to put into my work. If I do this painting as a larger work I will likely add a few more letterman's jackets on more of the figures from some of the other high schools that were in the vicinity of Palmer Park. I hope you all had as much fun following the development of this work as I had painting it. Sincerely, Stanton Manolakas
