Artist Reply: Thank you for your comment. I am very proud of this shot. It's not often one has a chance to capture such a closeup. The whale was about 20 feet off the side of the boat! The whales were simply spectacular that day!

Artist Reply: Thank you for your comment. Yes, it was pretty special to be able to capture the baleen strands in the humpback's mouth. Even two of the gulls benefited from the whale's breaking the water by grabbing some sand worms! Yummy!
