Built in 652 A.D., now vacant, was used for storage and study of Buddhist Scripture, translated by the legendary monk, Xuan Zhuang, who traveled to India from 629 AD to 645 AD through the Silk Road on horse back. This is the basis of the great novel The Monkey King. Bottom: Tang Dynasty (618 AD-907 AD) style buildings (new constructions) behind the pagoda. TOP TEN PICTURE OF THE DAY.
