Ground Zero

We took a friend of ours who has never been to the USA into Manhattan yesterday. One of the many places we visited was Ground Zero. A man playing Amazing Grace on the flute in the back ground, the wind just perfect, kept the American flag flying high and proud. God bless all who was lost on that tragic day. God bless all our heroes who watched over us. Copyright J.Hansson 2007

wonderful capture just wonderful jamie

Artist Reply: Thank you so much Jamie! It was so moving to be there and still very emotional. I live about a half hour from Manhattan on Long Island. My husband Joe, was working on the 104th floor of tower two. Thank God, I had a Dr. appointment because I crushed my foot and ankle so he stayed home to drive me there. Not a day goes by that I don't thank God for that and pray for all that did perish that tragic day. Joe's brother Jeff did go to work that day. He was working near the towers. We had NO communication with anybody that day. No cell phones - no NOTHING. We were crippled. Everybody left via the 59th street bridge on foot. Anybody with a car or truck tried to get as many people as they could out of there. It was a horrible day that left a burning scar in my memory. On another note, now you know some of our history behind that day. Thank you again Jamie for such a wonderful comment. Your really a sweetheart! Have a great day!

I shed some tears when I read your description. I was there about a couple of years ago and you've captured the emotion beautifully in your shot. Bless you, Jamie!
