Ha! Just someone trying to be an intellect without the education and life experiences it takes. I believe the worst thing one can ever do is respond to the negative. It can only sound defensive. Instead take pleasure in knowing that for someone like that to not like your work is in fact a compliment to it and should make you feel a little more secure. I do. And usually when it is in person I realize the person is the kind of human I would be upset to receive a compliment from. Just paint, or whatever, because that's a job you've chosen for yourself. And let the rest go.
