Scruffy - Three

My best mate, down in Davao del Sur, Mindanao, Philippines! A scruffy mongrel he may well be but he is such a charming fellow! Here he is, enjoying a rare moment of freedom on a walk around the newly planted rice-fields, with a beautiful tropical sunset as a back-drop. Where is "Scruffy - Two," you may well ask! (I haven't finished "Scruffy - Two" yet but I started this one after "Scruffy - Two," so "Scruffy Three" it shall remain!) 21" x 29" (53cm x 74cm) Rembrandt, Unison and Schmincke soft pastels on Waterford 140lb watercolor paper (rough)

Artist Reply: You would love him! He's been on the end of a short piece of chain for most of his life - but he is so still so full of life! When I took the photo on which this was based, I'm sure he thought all his birthdays had come at once!
