Going Up?

A couple of switch-backs from the falls you come across this log stairway. This part of the ravine has very loose dirt and can't sustain the trail. The switch-backs above the stairs are breaking down a little at a time which makes things interesting. The 1st photo was taken April of 2004 on a gorgeous sunny day. This was our first time on this hike....I always like the first time the best. The 2nd photo was taken Feb. of 2006. It's not the best shot...my lense kept fogging up that day. You can still get the idea that the stairs are a little trickier in the winter. Thanks for coming...don't slip!!! Like my daughter says, "I ain't carrying you out!!"

How very beautiful. The top one reminds me of the steps up to our cottage in Michigan. Love the color of the leaves.
