This is a site on the Via Delarosa which is traditionally believed to be the route that Jesus walked on his way to his crucifixion. This spot is marked by a sign and relief that shows Christ, with the cross on his shoulder, encountering his mother, the Virgin Mary. This represents the fourth station of the cross in Catholic ritual. This is the spot where this incident is supposed to have happened. I thought is was interesting that there is a star of David spray painted on the door below the image. I don't know if it is just random graffiti or is it is meant to signify something about this passageway.
