Many times when we are hiking, I tell myself that I'll get the shot on my way back. Most times I do. Today's photos are the case. We were anxious to get to Annette Lake,(for the first time), but the vine maples on the trail caught my eye and I made the stop to photograph them on the way back. They grow in open spaces in the forest that are usually located at rock falls or places where huge evergreens have fallen and opened up a space in the canopy. They are more plentiful at lower elevations, too. Thanks for coming with us on this new trail. Hope you liked it.... :)
