Here I am avout four monts into the painting. This has been a very slow and labor intensive work. I don't mind though, the more time I take the better the result seems to be. This image was easier to ge although not as sharp as the one taken with my digital stil camera. I photographed this with my mini DV Camcorder with the low light setting and adjusted the image in Photo shop. It was much easier to get this done for the web site. Hopefully it won't be so long between postings.

Thank you for sharing your different steps to this painting, Stanton. I've done many watercolors also and what amazes me is that you don't mention using a maskoid - man!

Stanton, I followed through all of your steps in this category and I see a resemblance to your methods of starting a painting to that of my husband, Denny Karchner. His methods are very much like yours in that you rough in the image and then slowly complete one object at a time. Please give his work a look. He has tutorials showing the various stages just as you have done here for many of his pencils and painting. I just love your work!

I only comment on the ones I like. You can draw!! But the cars seem to be "floating"- almost looks like you weren't finished at the bottom of the page.
