This was such a fun project, I think I'll do another or six! My 12Art group decided to do a series of 5x7s, matted to 8x10, with the mats worked as part of the painting. It was a royal pain in the tail, but a good challenge. The work is woodstain, with a gold metallic wash over the 5x7. copyright 2006; Loree Harrell

Great concept...I have done a few that were on canvas with a wood frame painted as part of the painting...try it, you'll love it.
