Nature and survival, beauty in everything around us. Root systems are amazing. Nice capture and comment!! Is the tree still alive?

Artist Reply: Hi Mary! Yes, the tree is still alive. To the right of this tree are huge waterfalls. Slate surrounds everything, including the water. I'm guessing that these roots were formed via repeated surges in the falls. Thanks!

interesting and important subject-matter here... its horrifying in its dead barren content, but also beautiful in the shapes and twisted limbs of the tree... great shot! very very well done!
