Just found out today that the name of this interesting plant is-(err was)-a Voodoo Plant. This photo was taken less than 12 hours after it opened. It is about 5 feet high. Within 24 hours it had shriveled up. I can't remember the name of this plant..anyone else know? I understand they get as tall as 15 - 20 feet?

Interesting plant! Did it smell bad? The only one I can think of that fits that description is a Corpse Flower???

Artist Reply: No I don't remember it ...smelling.." like anything dead or alive . Plus (I'll post shortly) I was pretty much crawling around on the ground (we photogeeks are sometimes a strange bunch) lens to pistol with a Jack-in-the-Pulpit right behind this guy. :-) I'll ask Mr. Faulkner again and post the name. Taxonomic? & Common.
