Paper Model of

'JDS Kongo (DDG-173)' is a Kongo class guided missile destroyer in the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF). Kongo was named for Mount Kongo. She was laid down by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Nagasaki. This model is made out of 100% paper and it contains more than 1500 parts. It took me more than 2 months approx(250hrs) to complete. Your precious comments will help me improve my talent.Thanks a lot!!do write ur email ID after ur comments. That's not a battleship, but a destroyer of the Kongo Class (DDG-182). Other destroyers in this class are Kirishima (DDG-174), Myoko (DDG-175) and Chokai (DDG-176), all built between 1990 and 1998. They succeeded the Hatakaze Class (DDG-171 and DDG-172 built between 1983 and 1988 ) and then succeeded by the Atago class (DDG-177) with the Ashigara (DDG-178).

Beautiful!!! Where can I learn to do papercraft at that level? I got a papercraft template on some battleships but it instruction is not in English. But I found out some of the paper parts require thick ones. Any guidance? Please help. Thank you.

Artist Reply: Hi. In order to learn building Paper Models, I would recommend you to start with the easy ones first and switch to more complicated ones depending on how fast and passionately you can learn... You also may want to join Zaelot.com hobby forum where you will get a lot of information/material related to Scale Paper Modelling. One can use different kinds of papers for building a model, depending upon the specific parts. For E.g. the landing gear assembly of any airplane has to be strong enough to be able to take the weight of the entire model. May I know your name (& Email Id) please?
