Self Portrait

8x10 self portrait on 100# brisol paper, various leads. This was done for my first member challenge - self portraits due Jan. 31. I worked from a photo I took of myself, which I am sorry to say didn't come out as clear as I would have like or shadowed quite like I would have liked. I was trying for something a long the lines of old Mary Pickford photo to work from. I have a lot to learn.....there for I was kind of frustrated working on this, and hope to do a much better one in the future. Thanks for looking and comments are always appreciated!

I noticed you are extra hard on your own self protrait's critc, far more then any other drawly in your profile? Just something I noticed. I got to give you credit, I could not stay so close to subject like you do. Your eye is fine tuned. I tend to wondered off and get all surreal.. Theres something I seen & I'm sure you know this ,the eye is coned at the center of the pupil naturally. So the eye lids always form around the cone. Kinda like a frone & smiley face The cone shape also makes the lower lid blug to fit the coned eye ball. Hope you like critcs. Thanks for the Art. Peace CWR
