We lived this planet, and we are gone almost without a trace, leaving nothing but crushed glory as a memento. We will do the same again more easily and would me missed even less. How do we make it different, seems an inevitable question. And the only answer can be, we know, we are capable of seeing what is happening. And conceivably can alter its very course. It would be too base of us to simply relinquish this possibility through pride, or ignorance, or laziness.
