View of Stramberk,Moravia (2005) (Sold)

This is a view of the outskirts of Stramberk, a little village in Moravia where my wife and I spent a fantastic week learning Czech folk dances. It is one of several "Czech" painting to be donated to a silent auction for the local Louisiana Czech Museum.

This is really sweet! I love the perspective of the cottages rising up the hill in the background. I like the way the viewer's eye is drawn into the picture. It's as though we're looking over the rooftops of the large houses in the foreground into the distant hills beyond. Great offbeat colours!
