What a wonderful idea and then the composition and all sweet faces. Anneke, can you absolutely NOT paint anything that isn't charming, sweet, beautiful, and kind? And then you go and outright lie in your reply just before this, saying that you are "not too much of a fantasy artist"! As if you could get away with that with any of us in ArtWanted and probably, I hope, with many, many people. What a wonderful world you imagine, with everyone kind, especially to little ones and animals. I wish you were in government -- no, not you, but that there could be other people even just a little bit as kind and caring as you governing all the nations of the world, of the universe! I just remembered that I did a dragon for my son several years ago and I had no idea. . .really I should post that and talk on my comment area instead of rambling all over yours. One thing, though. I do not understand if there is any particular significance to the young woman's gesture in putting her finger to her lip. I realize that a big decision for us artists is what to do about the hands. And you, I think, never ever take the easy out of finding them something to do where they don't show or not much or difficultly, anyway. And, my goodness, what a splendid and perfect rendition you have done of her right had, of each of the fingers, and even subtleties of the arm, too. And her left hand! Just look at how those two fingers and the hand's palm demonstrate the care with which to hold a hatching dragon's egg. That tiny bit of space between part of the eggshell and the crook of the left hand's thumb is worth a long trip to a museum to see.

Artist Reply: Bruce, I would love to see your dragon, without doubt it will be amazing! I'm afraid if I were in government this world would be one big amusement park, but there would be no wars and nobody would be hungry and animals would be free. Back to the picture, the princess is putting her finger to her mouth in surprise, because the little dragon just came out of his egg on her hand. The mother dragon in the back is her best friend, they have made wonderful journeys together. I had a real hard time on the hands, but you can't hide them always! :) Dear Bruce, I loved to read your beautiful comment, thank you so much for it, my friend!
