Spirit Mask

We all wear masks to define our identities. This is a mask of the spirit, or spiritual. The third eye is open, active, and misty aura like swirls move over the suface. The mat like border is not a mat but is part of the actual painting. This work is 8" x 10", Da Vinci oils on acrylic primed watercolor paper (Strathmore 100% cotton rag)

Wow, very impressive.it looks like it has texture to the mask,but yet jumps out at you. 10++

Artist Reply: Thank you , Billy. Yes, it actually does have texture. The brush strokes are quite heavy in places. I'm very pleased that this comes through in a flat photo. Though this is a small work, I've been very fond of it myself. I've also used sgraffito in this piece, scratching one layer away to reveal another. So it really is quite textural. Thank you again!
