The World of One

I did a fun little painting of a mushroom cloud from a nuclear explosion. In the foreground was a silhouette of Chamael the Angel of Battlefields and places of execution. Or at least how I'd pictured him to look ... black, ground length trenchcoat and large black wings, ruffling in the wind from the fallout blast. I painted it in an impressionistic style. In a combination of Impasto/alla prima techniques. Impasto Paint applied in outstanding heavy layers or strokes; also, any thickness or roughness of paint or deep brush marks, as distinguished from a flat, smooth surface. alla prima A style of painting where, instead of building colours up with layers, the painting is done in one session while the paint is still wet. From the Italian word which literally means at once. Who says you don't learn something new everyday ... heh heh
