Frogs

When Spencer ran up proudly with his jar of frogs, I knew I had a painting. He took me back to those carefree childhood days of catching frogs and pollywogs in the creek. I wanted to embrace that childish wonder in this portrait of Spencer and his captives. The figure was done fast and loose. The background an abstract of blues and greens over which I drew the frogs as I saw them leaping about.
