Audrey Hepburn Escaping the Nazis

Audrey Hepburn had a rough childhood growing up in the nazi occupied country of Holland during WWII. this painting depicts her in her adult life but still remains haunted by her fears growing up as a child during this time. The bird is trying to take away her freedom by flying away with her necklace. The nazi soldiers are closing in and all audrey can do is hide.

Apart from the power of the image, I very much like all the different patterns and textures.
