I posted this colored pencil painting entitled "Preserving Summer" about 20 days ago. However, after looking at the original painting, I felt that the background needed to be darkened to allow the focus of the piece, the canning jar and the marigolds, to appear more dramatic and pop more that they did in the original post. The piece was based on my own reference photograph and was done on museum quality Grafix drafting film using Farber-Castell Polychromos and Dick Blick pencils. The size of the artwork is 11 X 14 inches. I have entitled this version "Preserving Summer 2".
