I have this pencil of john wayne. Why two dates with artist signature on both?
Artist Reply: The portraits of the musicians and movie stars like John Wayne were commissioned by a gallery/frame shop in TX. I signed all the originals when I finished them but then they had me sign and date each of the prints for reasons I was never clear on. It was 30 years ago and I don't remember all the details on that.
